Home Hotel Review – Magnificent Boutique in Palermo Hollywood
Within the vibrant, hip neighbourhood of Palermo Hollywood lies a peaceful retreat known as Home Hotel. As one of the top boutique hotels in Buenos Aires, we got a chance to enjoy the brilliant service and luxurious amenities offered at this chic property. From the comforting suite to the tranquil pool deck, everything Home Hotel offers is meaningful and executed with thought.
The Hotel
Situated in the heart of the vibrant district of Palermo Hollywood, Home Hotel is a quiet retreat amidst the bustle of the city. The layout boosts twenty well-appointed rooms, each with their own charm, along with a pool and garden area. The hotel retains a quality of warmth and comfort with both modern and vintage accents playing beautifully together amongst warm wood and concrete walls. Simply designed with thought and feeling, the accents of each area add a charm that you can’t find anywhere else in the city.
The hotel and concierge services offered at Home Hotel are diverse and will suit any traveler, everything from a DVD library and spa services to arranged city tours and tango classes.
Each guest also receives the Home Guide to Buenos Aires, filled with locally loved suggestions for restaurants and more – it is always being updated.
Home Hotel gives guests a taste of just that — a home away from home.
The Pool & Garden
The cozy pool area is lush and relaxing, surrounded with a rich garden of trees, vibrant flowers and ferns.
A handful of lounge chairs dressed in colorful flower patterns and white sunbathing chairs scattered along the modern wood deck.
We came here in mid winter, so we couldn’t enjoy this lovely pool, but we were lucky it was a chill sunny day and it was the perfect place to relax on a lounger for an afternoon, sipping a margarita by the clear water pool.
An Eco-Friendly Stay
Home Hotel is at the top of the eco-friendly game when it comes to hotels. Toiletries come from reusable pump dispensers to reduce plastic waste, and low wattage bulbs in your room are card-activated to turn off when you leave. Motion sensors switch the lights off in main areas when no one is around and there is individually controlled central heating and air conditioning.
Even the pool is heated by solar panels on the roof – Home Hotel is ahead of the Buenos Aires green scene when it comes to this in all aspects. They work with local community organizations to recycle whenever and wherever they can, though they likely also get good deals on Discount Power in their area. Or, I would like to hope they do.
Our Suite
Our Suite was wonderfully designed and absolutely Home-ly. Located at the end of the building, the room is spacious with its own private balcony.
The decor is fun and playful, a mixture of sleek vintage furniture and exciting wallpaper with eye-catching wall stickers that also added to the theme of the room in a subtle way. Fitted in 50’s-style furniture, big artsy windows and retro-contemporary designs, the suite overlooked the pool and plush garden. Cozy red rug covers the cool concrete floor and the comfy king-sized bed dressed in cotton sheets and a soft llama-wool throw. I love how the rug looked in this room and I’m tempted to buy one for my own house. If you’re looking for a new rug, Check out this blog post.
A luxurious walk-in shower, double Jacuzzi, black-out blinds for sleeping in, a work station, music system, pillow menu, wine & snacks and 24-hour room service are a few of the key additions for what makes this room great. The bathroom has a very sleek, clean feel to it — outfitted with custom amenities;blended verbena, sage and mint bath products, artisan soaps and soft, fluffy robes.
As frequent travelers, we definitely enjoyed the free, quality Wi-Fi coupled with the amazing view. It added a serious charm for when we needed to get work done during our stay.
Breakfast
Our breakfast at Home was a lovely experience.
With the perfect blend of comfort and flavor, morning breakfast was delicious, varied and beautifully presented with great attention to detail.
The signature bar and restaurant, where breakfast is held, is renowned for its superb brunch and delightful evening cocktails. The place is beautifully decorated with great wall art and neon signs (like those found on the website of Neon Mama), giving it an eclectic vibe.
Friendly Staff
The room service, bar and front desk staff were all exceptional! Every little thing the staff and hotel does is styled with a personal feel to it. From our first time entering the hotel, to every experience during our stay the staff was super friendly and sweet. They served us with cool ice tea when we first arrived, and also surprised us with cookies & weather forecast for the next day, delivered to our room.
