Salgado Alimentos restaurant Buenos Aires

Salgado Alimentos – Italian Gem in Bs As

Buenos Aires is well known for it’s diverse food culture,  Plentiful restaurants and authentic cuisines. The Argentine food derives from a mix of influences, which definitely reflects the cosmopolitan identity of the city. Here is one good and delicious reason to visit Buenos Aires.

Salgado restaurant Buenos Aires

Salgado is a local favorite in Villa Crespo, A very hip and non-touristy neighborhood in Bs As.  The place is small and cozy with very simple homely vintage design, And for us that was one of the highlights of the place! Not fancy, but very fresh and original.

The menu has many wonderful innovative Italian dishes and many variations of pasta. The waiter offered us the daily specials followed by a chalkboard in his hand.

A basket of  homemade bread & fresh buns with butter and olives on the side were waiting for us at the table.

For an appetizer we had the Provoleta with tomatoes and pesto. Provoleta is a grilled provolone cheese, an Argentinian specialty.

We had two main courses: Ravioli with cheddar and  bacon, topped with cream sauce & mushrooms. And Sorrentinos Negros, A pasta  filled with shrimps and salmon.

It was all very tasty (and cheap!) And unfortunately we didn’t have any room for desserts…
This small gem is one of our favorites and a must try if you feel like having a good  authentic Italian dinner in the city.
