What To Do and Where To Go in Amsterdam.
Amsterdam’s reputation precedes it, the city of quaint historic buildings, meandering romantic canals and cobbled streets. But Amsterdam is also “naughty but nice”, with a lax attitude towards all the guilty pleasures you could dream up. So stuff your face with delicious fattening foods, ogle at the windows lit up in red and really relax in an Amsterdam café.
Explore
Some of the 165 canals of Amsterdam date back to the 17th century, they are an integral part of the city and a canal tour is a must for any visitor to Amsterdam.
On a canal tour, you can see many of the city’s main sites alongshore or take a tour that explores the canals that wind their way through the smaller neighborhoods.
There are lots of choices from a hop-on-hop-off tour and a guided canal tour to a romantic dinner on board an open-air boat.
Feel like a local and see Amsterdam by bike, rent a bike and follow the many bike paths which line most roads. It is a great way to explore the smaller neighborhoods and discover hidden gems away from the main tourist routes.
Museums
Amsterdam has some of the best museums in the world, many of the Old Masters came from the Netherlands and their works can be seen in the Rijksmuseum; modern art can be seen in the Stedelijk Museum and Van Gogh’s work is on show in the Van Gogh Museum.
For something a bit wacky visit the Sex Museum, Hash, Marijuana and Hemp Museum and the Torture Museum. After spending time at the sex museum, perhaps you would like to spend some time with an escort? Ladies, similar to the ladies that can be found on נערות ליווי, can be found in most areas of Amsterdam, especially at the red light district. The sex museums might even have a card with phone numbers on so you can experience the real Amsterdam.
Anna Frank’s House is a real piece of history where you can walk through the house and the attic where she lived and hid during WWII.
Food
In Holland fries are called vlaamse friet or patat and are sold from frites stands throughout the city. The Dutch top their chips with not only ketchup but also mayonnaise, chili sauce, sweet and sour sauce, cinnamon, caramel and peanut butter sauce.
Poffertjes are bit-size mini-pancakes made with yeast and buckwheat; these delicious treats are smothered with butter and sprinkled with loads of powdered sugar.
Panekoeken resemble French crepes, they’re thin and served with a wide range of toppings. You could have sweet or savory toppings on your panekoeken like bacon and cheese or whipped cream and hot cherries.
Stroopwafels consist of two flat, round waffles that have been stuck together with sticky syrup! You can place them on top of your coffee cup to let the steam soften and melt the syrup. All these belly-warming delights can be washed down with some delicious hot chocolate or coffee.
Nightlife
No visit to Amsterdam is complete without at least a quick look at the Red Light District. If you’re a big fan of some of the videos on sites such as https://www.tubev.sex/search?search=xxx, you want want to miss the opportunity to visit the Red Light District. You can see brothels, sex shops and the infamous windows where prostitutes display their wares and give curious tourists a peek of what they have to offer.
Holland’s laid back attitude towards live sex, drugs and rock n’ roll makes it an exciting place to party.
For clubs head for Sugar Factory, Paradiso and Melkweg or check out the clubs and cafes around Rembrandtplein and Leidseplein.
Coffee shops can be a quiet place to unwind especially as they serve more than just coffee. If you’re ever going to try cannabis this would be the place, here you can order your joint of the same menu as your coffee.
Markets
Amsterdam has 12 daily outdoor markets and 15 more markets which open only of specific days.
You can find anything you want in Amsterdam markets, try the Waterlooplein Flea Market; the Boerenmarkt farmers market; Albert Cuyp Market, the city’s largest market which sells mainly food products and Bloemenmarkt the world’s only floating flower market. To find different markets and fairs I always use Bnearme flea market search.
